Gardening Basics is Laughing Radish’s First Garden School Lesson and is an excellent first stop for those new to gardening.
Gardening Basics is designed for those who already have a garden at their home, but who would like some fun guided education about the vegetable garden process. If you do not yet have a garden bed or growing space already installed at your home, you can add-on a Garden Design Consultation at registration. We will meet before the Gardening Basics Lesson to learn, design and build your new garden – always keeping education and sustainability in mind. When the garden is installed, we will be ready for your Gardening Basics Lesson!

In Gardening Basics, you will learn everything you need to know about planting a vegetable garden in your very own backyard and achieving food independence for your family.
Some important topics include bed prep, soil nutrition and health, choosing seeds, water and the science of how plants grow.
We’ll then work together to design and plant your very first vegetable garden using Laughing Radish’s organic heirloom seeds and seedlings and incorporating elements of permaculture design

This is an In-Person workshop to give you the most immersive gardening experience possible and offer direct feedback specific to YOUR garden and growing conditions. Questions are highly encouraged throughout the lesson.
The cost of Gardening Basics is $80 for an individual adult or $140 for a family of 4.
