Cabin Musings

Cabin Musings are an exploration of body, mind, spirit, land & community in a monthly, snail-mail newsletter send out.

Inspired by the concept of “gentle discipline” and the desire to start a new chapter grounded in intentional, creative reflection, I will be building an analog practice of letter writing to document and share my story as I live on the land in a remote cabin & yurt in the deep woods of Ontario.

This mail out is free to join (for up to 30 people) and I plan to send the first month’s letters in September. You can join the mailing list anytime and choose either a single-month, seasonal or annual subscription to the mail out based on how many letters you would like to receive.

Each month, the mail out may include:

  • a letter written by me, reflecting on a monthly theme that relates to body, mind, spirit, land or community in some distinct way
  • Updates from the yurt/cabin, things that I’ve been up to lately and what I’ve learned about myself in the process
  • Miscellaneous ephemera that reminds me of the monthly theme
  • A photo, print or other art piece made by me, to help distill the monthly reflections into a physical piece of art.
  • Bonus things that I think into existence along the way…

You can consider this project to be an analog newsletter that shifts with the seasons (the physical seasons and my own internal seasons) and builds tiny moments of connection over distance. I hope it also gives us all permission to unplug, pour a cup of tea and find a sense of wonder in the mundane parts of life.

I will only be sending the letters once per month, and only to those who have added their name to my mail out list. In the spirit of staying analog, the Cabin Musings will not be published digitally on any platform, nor will they be posted or shared anywhere outside of my letter mail outs. As such, you must sign up to the mailing list if you would like to see what the Cabin Musings are all about. And if you are unsure about it- choose the single-month mail out option as a trial!

Cabin Musings will become an immersive art and storytelling journey that you get to experience and take part in.

Thanks for joining me on this year of reflection, slow-craft and musing. I can’t wait to see where this cozy little analog journey takes us!
